Popular sushi bistro closes a location after months of opening, but another restaurant has already opened in its place

A popular spot in town opened their second location in March, located at in the former Alana’s Restaurant at 2333 N. High st., boasting over 50 sushi rolls to try from.

But it was very short lived. The restaurant, Oishii 2 Japanese Bistro, has already closed. However, another restaurant has already opened in its place, and their Powell location is still open.

Joey’s Place is the next restaurant to be located at this Old North location. The new modern-American restaurant opened its doors August 1 for its soft opening, which for now, includes drinks on its High St. facing patio. When the kitchen is up & running (they’re still working out the details), they’ll be serving “modern bar-fare,” perfect for enjoying in front of the dozen flat-screen TVs inside.
