Ray Ray’s Hog Pit announces opening date of first full-service barbecue restaurant

The moment we’ve been waiting for is almost here.

The acclaimed barbecue business, Ray Ray’s Hog Pit, announced they’re opening a new barbecue concept, this time not inside of a truck or stand. A full-service restaurant will open at 138 S. Main St. in Marion, in an 1800s building Downtown.

Starting May 13, guests can enjoy beef brisket, pulled pork sourced directly from the owner’s Granville farm, smoked turkey, ribs, and even cauliflower burnt ends for vegetarians at this new spot. While Ray Ray’s food trucks serve their famous smoked or breaded wings on special occasions, the actual restaurant will offer them every day, with 11 different flavors to choose from.

Other new additions to the menu include burgers made with beef from RL Valley Beef in Athens, served with pub fries. You can choose from three different kinds, all made with two smash burgers: The Ray Ray’s Burger, with cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, sweet BBQ sauce, and tangy onion jam, or the Spicy Burger, with pepper jack cheese, spicy habanero jam, and tangy garlic and feta aioli. The American Burger is on the simple side, with classic American cheese, tomato, pickles, and mayo.

Starters include barbecue spaghetti balls, collard green and artichoke dip, a pickle flight, fried cornbread, mozzarella sticks, and much more.

You can wash it all down with cocktails, beer, root beer, and N/A drinks from their full-service bar.

“And we’re only getting started,” said Ray Ray’s.
