Robot fryers and AI voice assistance: White Castle unveils “Castle of tomorrow”
The White Castles of tomorrow are here before our very eyes today. On Tuesday, the Columbus-based burger chain reopened a Southeast Side location, and it did so as the brand’s “Castle of Tomorrow” prototype.
It’s located at 1025 Alum Creek Dr.
The first “Castle of Tomorrow” will feature a host of new cutting-edge kitchen amenities, including an updated version of the robot-powered Flippy the Fryer, a dedicated area for mobile pickups and a streamlined food preparation area.

In addition to an updated kitchen, the new prototype White Castle will have an updated dining area, complete with high ceilings and vibrant colors, as well as a change to its iconic signage.
The new building sign will transform once the sun goes down, becoming Night Castle instead of White Castle.
