Short North restaurant quietly closes, but Cleveland-based restaurant opens new location there

A local restaurant known for small plates and cocktails recently closed, but another restaurant has already moved right in and has even opened.

Fireproof, located at 1026 N. High St. since 2019, quietly and unexpectedly closed a couple of months ago. It’s still unclear why.

But no worries, because House of Creole, a popular Cleveland-based restaurant, is ready to serve guests Southern-inspired cajun food, like chargrilled oysters, pasta, seasoned Creole wings, jambalaya, beignets, and more! This marks the second location for House of Creole, the first being in Cleveland.

House of Creole’s unique dishes and craft cocktails can be found during their soft opening hours the entire month of July: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4p-10p, Fridays and Saturdays 4p-11p, and Sundays, 4p-9p.
