Texas based, ‘vintage-inspired’ sports bar chain opens Buckeyes-themed bar and pizza kitchen
It’s a good thing the Buckeyes won their week one kickoff against the Longhorns, or else opening a Buckeyes-themed branch of a Texas-based sports bar chain might not have gone over very well in Columbus.
Victory Lap, a ‘vintage-inspired’ sports bar with wall-to-wall TVs, plenty of beer and a soon-to-open pizzeria, held its soft opening at 6 a.m. on Aug. 30, when Ohio State kicked off its 2025 football season.
Located at 222 W. Lane Ave., the new bar aims to “bring Ohio State students, alumni, and Buckeye fans together,” according to a press release.

The new sports bar plans to open its own Pizza Kitchen, Side Piece Pies, later this month.
Victory Lap operates two other bars, both of which are located in the University of Texas area.
