The absolute best fries in Columbus according to 614feast
Happy Fry Day, Fried Day, Friday! Whatever you call it, let’s eat some fries.
Columbus has no shortage of incredible French fry options. From low-and-slow BBQ fries to fast food-style baskets and even a fancy version topped with caviar, there’s a fry for every craving. Here are five of my favorite spots in town that know how to serve them up right:
Chapman’s Eat Market (739 S. 3rd St.)
Their Beef Fat Fries are some of the best I’ve ever had. They’re crispy, salty, and served in a no-fuss cardboard fry box, even though they’re seriously elevated. The house-made ranch is a must have dipper. Feeling extra? You can add white sturgeon caviar and crème fraîche for a luxurious twist.
Hoggy’s BBQ (830 Bethel Rd.)
Another beef fat fry worth writing home about. Hoggy’s slow and low BBQ vibes shine with their secret menu G & C Fries. Hand-cut and fried in beef tallow, these are topped with smoked brisket, smoked Gouda cheese sauce, and house-made bacon jam. A smoky, cheesy, savory feast.

Sababa Mediterranean Grill (6280 E. Broad St.)
If you love loaded fries, this one’s for you. Their Greek fries are solid, but the move is the Fry Bowl with gyro meat, house medium sauce, and toppings of your choice. Pro tip: get the spicy feta. What’s betta than feta?
Loops (1629 Northwest Blvd.)
This fast food spot was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives for good reason. The original fries are crispy, golden, and perfectly seasoned. But the real star is the Chili Cheese Fries, topped with mustard, onion, Loops’ homemade chili, and shredded cheddar.
Gallos Tap Room (multiple)
The Works Fries are loaded with cheddar, bacon, ranch, Cockfight sauce, sour cream, and green onions. Every topping adds something good, but the real x-factor is that Cockfight sauce. Honestly, order a side of it and dip whatever you want. You won’t regret it.
