A mom & pop restaurant is apparently churning out some of the state’s best fish, chips, and hushpuppies.

Sure, we’re completely landlocked here in Ohio, but some restaurants have still figured out how to transport us to the British Isles.

Rusty’s Wharf, which opened in Pataskala 15 years ago, is one of them.

According to Family Destinations, a national travel guide that often names the “best ofs” in each state, Rusty’s Wharf serves “some of the most authentic seafood you’ll find without a passport or seasickness medication.”

“The fish – flaky, tender cod encased in a golden-brown batter that shatters with satisfying crispness when your fork breaks through – comes with a heap of hand-cut chips that strike the perfect balance between crispy exterior and fluffy interior,” said Family Destinations.

Along with fish & chips and other fried delicacies, Family Destinations said Rusty’s clam chowder “deservers its own standing ovation.”

Try it for yourself! Rusty’s Wharf is located at 7256 Hazelton-Etna Road SW 310 in Pataskala, Ohio.
