Travel magazine names Cbus as ‘One of America’s Most Thrilling Food Cities,’ highlights these restaurants and bars
For anyone still considering Columbus as just a flyover town, show them the newly released article that says we have some of the best food in the country.
“Bengali street food, Japanese pastries, and a Goosebumps-inspired cocktail menu are only a few of the reasons you should be visiting,” said Afar Magazine’s recent feature on our city. Katie Chang, the writer, lives in Brooklyn, New York, and has been traveling and writing for the past decade.

She makes the case that Columbus is one of the most “flourishing destinations for food and drink.”
Afar specifically mentions many restaurants, bakeries, bars, and even chefs here in Columbus that are helping bring our food scene on the map (or should I say, menu):
- Avishar Barua, and his restaurants Joyas and Agni
- BJ Lieberman & Bronwyn Haines’, and their restaurants Metsi’s and jazz bar Ginger Rabbit Jazz Lounge
- North Market, and Hoyo’s Kitchen and Momo Ghar inside of it
- Bethel Rd. Corridor, and Jiu Thai Asian, The Mochi Shop, and Meshikou Ramen
- Bonifacio
- Belle’s Bread
- Daniel Riesenberger and his bakery, Dan the Baker
- Kevin and Jenna Crowley, and their restaurant The Lox Bagel Shop
- Lauren Culley and Jeff Excell and their coffee/pastry empire, Fox in the Snow
- Mjomii
- Three Bites Bakery
- Golden Delight Bakery
- Cobra
- Annie William’s and Luke Pierce’s bar, Law Bird

Congrats to all of the people and places that make Columbus so cool.
