A Turkish cafe in Columbus was the victim of a burglary over the weekend.

According to a social media post from Tulip Cafe, which is located at 2926 Hayden Run Plz. on the city’s Northwest Side, the local eatery saw its front door shattered over the weekend, with theft and more damage occurring after this.

“As we pour hearts into renovating, expanding and dreaming about the future, moments like this hit hard. Last night, someone broke into our cafe, stole our register and damaged what was around it,” the eatery’s post reads. “It’s a tough blow, but we’ll get back up, stronger than ever.”

Tulip Cafe, which is known for its Turkish pastries and bagels, had been temporarily closed while its interior is being renovated. It’s unclear if the break-in will affect its reopening date.
