Wawa’s first Ohio location is now open

You can now pump your gas with a side of hoagies and $1 coffee. A Pennsylvania-based convenience with a cult following has finally made it to Ohio.

That’s right, our first ever Wawa is officially open in Liberty Township just outside of Cincinnati at 7198 Cincinnati Dayton Rd. This Wawa is one of dozens of new stores opening across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana–with nine other stores planned to open in our state by the end of 2025.

Founded in 1964, the popular chain celebrated its annual “Wawa Day” on April 16, with the Liberty Township official opening marking the occasion. A post on Wawa’s Instagram @wawa highlights the Ohio store’s grand opening coinciding with Wawa’s 61 years.

Moving forward, Wawa has plans to continue their Ohio expansion with 60 different stores total, rolling out half a dozen new locations annually for the next few years.

“We’re thrilled to fly into Ohio and bring our unique combination of fresh food and beverage, convenience, and service to new friends and neighbors in the Buckeye State. This historic milestone kicks off the next chapter of our growth in the Midwest, and we’re overjoyed at the warm welcome we continue to receive from so many communities we’re now proud to count as part of the Wawa flock,” said Brian Schaller, President of Wawa in their press release.

The Liberty Township Wawa will be offering free, any-size hot coffee through April 27, open 24 hours a day. Hop on down to Cincinnati from Arch City, and maybe you’ll be the latest Wawa convert.
