Weird Al ordered 70 pierogies from this Columbus eatery

According to Charlie Greene, the owner of Pierogi Mountain, Wednesday was a day like any other for the Downtown eatery. Until it wasn’t.

Just before 6:30, he said, the restaurant received an order for 70 pierogies to feed “Weird Al” Yankovic and his team. The popular spoof singer–whose musical career has spanned more than 40 years–performed at the Palace Theater in Columbus on Sept. 14 (as part of The Bigger & Weirder Tour), before heading to Chicago for Riot Fest today.

Greene told 614Now the order was called in, and one of his team members picked it up, so he wasn’t actually able to interact with the “Amish Paradise” and “White & Nerdy” singer, but it was still a bucket list moment for him.

“I’ve fed a lot of celebrities in my day but Weird Al was always the one that got away, now when I hang my apron up for good I’ll be able to look back on this as a crowning moment in my career,” Greene said.
