82 year old national retail chain closing 500+ stores, including all Columbus locations

It hasn’t been a great couple of years for national chains: Big Lots, Party City, Red Lobster, TGI Friday, Frisch’s, and plenty of more have shuttered hundreds of locations, with multiple closings here in Central Ohio.
Joann Fabrics can now be added to that list.
The fabric store, which started in Cleveland back in 1943, announced they’re closing over 500 locations out of their 800 nationwide storefronts. Joann Inc. filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization, according to court filings, “…to facilitate a sale process to maximize the value of its business.”

And yes, this means all Columbus locations are closing, as well as their store in Dublin, Reynoldsburg, and Lancaster. The only remaining Central Ohio store will be at 789 Hebron Road in Heath, OH.
“After carefully reviewing all available strategic paths to address our ongoing industry, economic and financial challenges, JOANN and its financial stakeholders determined that initiating a court-supervised sale process is the best course of action to maximize the value of the business,” said Joann Inc.
Going-out-of-business sales will begin tomorrow, February 15th, continuing for several months, according to Joann Inc.’s statement.
