After a decade, Italian Village plant boutique shuts its doors
After 10 years in business, STUMP Columbus is celebrating the “End of an Era” before officially closing shop. Located at 305 E 5th Ave in Italian Village, STUMP Columbus recently announced their upcoming closure on Instagram. Their last day of retail operations will be September 6th, after a farewell party.
The business shared details at @stump_columbus on Instagram:
“Join us on September 5th from 4-8pm at our Italian Village shop for an evening of celebration, plants, community, and farewells. We’ll supply the snacks, drinks, and DJ if you all bring the good vibes.”

While the original flagship location is closing, other STUMP stores will remain open under the brand in Savannah, Philadelphia, and Lancaster. Founded in 2015, the store has long provided the community with houseplants and plant wares. The store shared more details around the closing and future plans under their secondary Instagram account, @stumpplants:
“But this isn’t the end—just a beautiful handoff. We’re thrilled to be passing the torch to our amazing managers who’ve been part of this journey: Kiley in Savannah, Brett and Allison in Philly, and Jenny in Lancaster. Each one is pouring their heart into keeping these shops alive and rooted in their communities.
We’re also beyond excited to continue working with Egan, our Italian Village manager—who’s been with us for nine years—with new projects that we look forward to sharing with you all soon.”
While Italian Village and greater Columbus says goodbye to a local staple, we will excitedly wait to see what founders Brian and Emily do next. The STUMP Plants location in Lancaster, Ohio will remain open at 117 N Columbus St, in the downtown area. Follow @stumpplants on Instagram for more retail information and upcoming celebration details.
