While Columbus may be the home to three of the worst grocery stores in the nation, it’s also the home to one of America’s favorites.

According to a 2025 study by Solitaired.com, which analyzed millions of reviews from 3,000 grocery stores across 100 cities, the Kroger at 2000 E. Main St. on the Far East Side is the third worst grocery store in the entire nation. The Walmart Supercenter on Morse Rd. ranked the 11th worst, and the Kroger on Parsons ranked the 12th worst.

Another market is making up for the others though. None other than The North Market Downtown here in Columbus ranked #11 as the nation’s best grocery store according to the study! West Side Market in Cleveland was voted the 6th best grocery store in America, and Findlay Market in Cincinnati ranked at #8.
