Bodycam video shows pet raccoon playing with owner’s meth pipe during Ohio traffic stop

It’s easy to imagine that many police officers have seen it all, but a recent Ohio traffic stop was truly one of a kind.

Bodycam footage provided by the Springfield Township (Summit County) Police Department shows a May 5 traffic stop in which a pet raccoon named Chewy was recorded playing with her owner’s meth pipe.

According to a statement from the Springfield Township Police, the vehicle was stopped around 7:15 p.m., as the registered owner had an expired license and an active warrant. Officer Austin Branham detained the driver, 55 year-old Victoria Vidal, without incident, and then turned his attention to the car, where he found Chewy playing with a meth pipe.

“I shit you not, come here. The raccoon has her meth pipe. He’s playing with a meth pipe right now,” Officer Branham is seen saying in the video, which you can watch here.

Chewy was not harmed, and was turned over to Cuyahoga Falls Police to confirm she has the correct paperwork.

“While our officers are trained to expect the unexpected, finding a raccoon holding a meth pipe is a first!  No raccoons were hurt or injured in this incident,” the Springfield County Police Department’s statement reads.
