Boil advisory issued for multiple areas in Ohio after dead body found inside water tank


Around 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, Ottawa County Sheriff’s office said deputies were dispatched after reports of a body had been found at the Ottawa County Regional Water Treatment Plant.
The body was determined to be water plant worker Jeffrey Kukay, who was working the night shift alone from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. He was found face down in a water tank, wearing a harness attached to a safety line. He worked at the plant for the past 20 years.

Authorities emphasized that the tank was drained, but a boil advisory was issued for the next four days for all customers of the water treatment plant due to the nature of the death, for there is a possibility the water quality could be compromised.
The following areas in Ottawa County (Northern Ohio) were issued a boil advisory:
- Port Clinton
- Elmore
- Danbury
- Catawba
- Oak Harbor
- Erie Township
- Portage Township
- Salem Township
- Harris Township
- Bay Township
The investigation is still ongoing.
