Bricks fall from Short North building, damage bus stop, forces business to close

A bus stop was damaged on Monday after bricks fell from a Short North apartment building located at the corner of High & W. 5th Ave.

Hundreds of bricks tumbled off the side of the building, shattering the glass bus stop.

No one was injured, but the area was evacuated. 

Unfortunately, some businesses were forced to temporarily close. Happy Little Treats, the vegan bakery at 1203 High St., posted on Instagram that, “The city has shut down any entrance into our building until it can be deemed safe. The investigation is not yet complete so we will not be open…” The bakery was forced to close yesterday and today.
