Columbus-based burger chain launches co-branded Heelys
White Castle is bringing us a blast from the past, and we aren’t talking about its 1921 Slider.
Last week, the Columbus-based burger chain announced a collaboration with Heelys, the shoe/roller skate hybrid footwear that was all the rage in the early 2000s.
Described in a press release as “stealth skates,” Heelys are shoes that are equipped with removable wheels, “giving users the freedom to seamlessly transition from walking or running to skating by shifting their weight to the heel.”

The White Castle Heelys, which are available in two different color patterns, both come with the White Castle logo and a tongue that resembles a Slider. They’re available exclusively on the Heelys website starting May 15.
“Just like our Sliders, these shoes are one-of-a-kind, craveable and made for memorable moments,” said Jamie Richardson, vice president at WhiteCastle. “We’re always seeking fresh and fun ways to satisfy cravings beyond the menu. Partnering with Heelys to design these exclusive shoes does just that.”
