Columbus high school teacher arrested for allegedly attempting to pay a high school student to kill her husband

According to court documents, Stephanie Demetrius, a former literary enrichment instructor at the Academy for Urban Scholars High School, was charged with felony conspiracy after allegedly attempting to pay a high school student $2,000 to kill her husband, with whom she is currently separated.

An affidavit claims she approached the student on March 26, giving them $250 “as a down payment for the job.”

The student has not been identified.

According to an ABC News story, Demetrius was “immediately fired” by the school.

She was arraigned on Thursday, given a bond of $150,000 and ordered to stay away from the student in the case as terms of her bond.
