Fire decimates Dublin business, leaving it temporarily closed

A Dublin business is left picking up the pieces after being severely damaged by a fire earlier this week.

On Tuesday evening, a fire broke out at the the Ace Hardware in Dublin, which is located at 373 W. Bridge St., the business announced on socia

“Earlier this evening, a fire broke out in our store. The cause is still unknown, but we are incredibly grateful that everyone made it out safely. For now, we will be temporarily closed as we assess the damage,” a social media post from the Dublin Ace Hardware reads. “We want to thank the first responders for their quick action and our team for responding so swiftly and calmly. We’ll keep the community updated as we work through the aftermath.”

According to the Washington Township Fire Department, the fire was contained at 9:45 p.m., and there were no injuries. Multiple other agencies assisted in putting out the blaze, including the Norwich Township Fire Department, Upper Arlington Firefighters, Columbus Division of Fire, Marysville Fire Division and Dublin Police Department.

“Last night, WTWP 2-Unit crews quickly responded to a fire at Ace Hardware in the Dublin Plaza.  While the cause remains under investigation, there were no injuries, and first responders were able to secure the area and extinguish the fire safely,” a social media post from the Washington Township Fire Department reads. “We are incredibly thankful for the mutual aid that helped prevent the fire from spreading further, eliminating additional damage and proud to work with the finest firefighters serving the community.”
