Former Ohio sheriff’s deputy who imported chemicals from China to produce steroids sentenced for running drug ring
A former Pike County sheriff’s deputy has ended up on the other side of the law after running a steroid and a cocaine ring.
Mark Anglemyer, a 42 year-old Waverly man, was sentenced to 120 months (10 years) in federal prison on Dec. 9 for allegedly mailing more than 2,500 packages of anabolic steroids and distributing 11 kilograms of cocaine.
According to federal investigators, Anglemyer, a former sheriff’s deputy, operated the drug ring from 2019-2024. He imported precursor chemicals from China to manufacture steroids, and then mailed them to customers using the United States Postal Service.

He originally obtained cocaine from California, which he sold, but when his connection was arrested, he flew to Colombia in an attempt to find another supplier.
Anglemyer and his co-defendants were indicted by a grand jury in May of 2024, and he pleaded guilty in April of 2025.
