German Village house with in-home library goes viral
A Columbus home readymade for book lovers has landed on the pages of a popular real estate Instagram account.
On May 29, the hit Instagram account Zillow Gone Wild, which boasts 2.1 million followers, shared a listing from Columbus realtor Jeff Mahler.
The home, located in German Village, features eight bedrooms, six bathrooms and covers more than 4,500 square feet.

Listed at $1,689,000, “The Books House” is described by the local realtor as “Columbus most unique short term rent,” likely an allusion to its potential to become an AirBnb rental property.
The star of the massive German Village home—which actually a new build, although it blends with the 100-plus year old homes around it—is the house’s massive library, which features floor to ceiling books and a sliding ladder.
We’re not sure if the books come with the home, but it’s never to late to start your collection. Especially if you have nearly $1.7 million to spare.
