Hocking Hills cabin owner sentenced to prison for spying on guests with cameras
The owner of a Hocking Hills rental property learned his fate at a sentencing hearing last week.
Jason Yard, who owned a Hocking Hills cabin that was regularly rented out, was sentenced to six to nine years in Ohio prison on Nov. 12.
Yard’s attorney and the Hocking County prosecutor agreed upon a term of four to six years in prison as part of a plea agreement, which Yard accepted, but judges are not required to sentence within the guidelines of plea deals.

The rental property owner was sentenced earlier this year, after a family told police they found a hidden camera in their bathroom ceiling in early 2024.
Investigators said that Yard has filmed dozens of victims over the course of several years, including families with young children.
