Meet the winner of the first-ever Ryan Day lookalike contest

When Anthony Cugini saw the social media post about a Ryan Day Look-Alike Contest several weeks ago, he knew even before entering his chances were as good as anyone’s.

Better than anyone’s, more likely.

“I am told constantly when walking around with a beard that I look like Ryan day, be it when I’m out of town or here in the great state of Ohio,” he told 614Now.

Cugini entered Barstool Ohio State’s Ryan Day Lookalike Contest earlier this month, and following several rounds, he took first place. And while many went all out with makeup, hair dye and more, Cugini won the whole thing by leaning on one simple prop.

 “For the contest all I did was throw a headset on. That outfit is a typical look for me,” he said.

While the most convincing Ryan Day lookalike didn’t win anything for his efforts, Cugini, a diehard Buckeyes fan, can hope.

”Nothing for the win yet. Maybe barstool is going to text me later with something cool, a day with Ryan day,” he said with a laugh.
