While the Wolverines were beaten soundly by the Buckeyes in the final week of the college football regular season, the Team Up North had seemingly just concluded a solid 2025 campaign, complete with a 9-3 record and a promising freshman quarterback.

Now, however, a serious and strange situation is unfolding in Ann Arbor, one that could cast a shadow on the previous season, and more.

Yesterday evening, Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore was not only fired by the University of Michigan, he was also arrested by the Pittsfield Township Police Department following an “inappropriate relationship” with a staff member.

“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately,” a statement from the school reads. “Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.”

According to an ESPN report, Moore was arrested at 8:30 p.m. yesterday, and is currently a suspect in an assault that occurred.

Before being fired yesterday, Sherrone Moore was in his second year as head coach. He replaced former head coach Jim Harbaugh, who left for the NFL after the 2023 season.
