Multiple Ohio cities, including Columbus, on new list of country’s most rat-infested cities
More than one Ohio city made an appearance on Orkin’s new list of the ‘rattiest’ in the country.
According to the pest control service, which published their 2025 list of the nation’s 50 “rattiest” cities late last month, Cleveland remains the most rat-infested city in Ohio, claiming the number 11 spot.
While this isn’t necessarily a point of pride for the city, it is an improvement for Cleveland, as the city appeared in the top ten of last year’s Orkin list.

Columbus was next, at the 21st spot, which marks a four-place place improvement from where they ended up last year (17th overall).
Rounding out Ohio’s representation on the city’s “rattiest” cities is Cincinnati, which landed at number 27, an 8-spot increase over it finishing 35th last year.
To create the list, Orkin tracked all of their rodent service calls in owner-occupied homes from Aug. 20, 2024-Aug. 1, 2025.
