Apparently, we live in one of the “unhappiest cities in America.” And apparently, a lot of other Ohioans live in unhappy cities, too.

A recent study by WalletHub compared 200 cities in the United States, ranking their “happiness,” and five cities in Ohio ranked on the very bottom of the list. They drew upon their various findings by examining each city based on 29 key indicators of happiness, ranging from the depression rate to the income-growth rate to average leisure time spent per day.

Coming out on the very top as the “Happiest City in America” is Fremont, California, with the highest share of households (80%!)  making above $75,000 a year.

But towards the end of the list, there’s us in Columbus, ranking at 123, plus Cincinnati at 154, Akron at 169, Toledo at 177. Cleveland is the very last on the list, at 182, making it the unhappiest city in America. These Ohio cities ranked low in all categories, such as emotional & physical well-being, income & employment, and community & environment.

What do you all think? Do you feel unhappy living in Columbus, and if so, why?
