Ohio Congresswoman confirms her name on potential hit list of political assassinations; 4 other Ohio politicians on list, too

Last week, Minnesota police recovered a potential hit list from the suspect who allegedly shot and killed the Democratic Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman, and her husband Mark. The suspect, Vance Boelter, also shot and wounded Democratic State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette.

Boelter allegedly showed up to The Hoffman’s door in the middle of the night impersonating a police officer, and wearing a realistic latex mask that changed the shape and look of his face. He shot both of them, then allegedly drove to the next state representative’s house on his list in Maple Grove. According to ABCNews, State Sen. Ann Rest was out of town, on vacation with her family. He then traveled to The Hortman’s home, killing both Melissa and Mark. He escaped from the police out their back door.

When arrested, Boelter had firearms in his car and a list of 45 elected officials listed in notebooks, including Gov. Tim Walz and U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar.

And none other than Ohio’s own Joyce Beatty was on that list, too, according to a Facebook post made by the U.S. Representative. “Unfortunately, my office was notified that my name was included on the suspect’s materials, and security measures were increased,” said Beatty’s post on Facebook. “I am grateful to the U.S. Capitol Police and the Columbus Police Department for their swift response. As this remains an ongoing investigation, this is all I will share at this time.”

Along with Beatty, four other Democratic U.S. Reps from Ohio said they were on the list as well – Greg Landsman in Cincinnati, Shontel Brown in Cleveland, Marcy Kaptur in Toledo, and Emilia Sykes in Akron.

Authorities say that Boelter had been researching and stalking these lawmakers on this potential hit list for several months.
