Ohio deportation officer sentenced to federal prison for coercing possible deportees into sex


A former Cincinnati ICE deportation officer was sentenced to 144 months (12 years) in federal prison for using his position of authority to solicit sex from women.
After being convicted of four counts in January of 2024, including obstructing a sex trafficking investigation, deprivation of rights under color of law, witness tampering and destruction of records in a federal investigation, he was sentenced on March 11.
Golobic was employed at the Blue Ash, Ohio ICE office from 2006-2020.

He had the authority to decide whether individuals in the Alternatives to Detention AtD program could remain in the country or were deported.
According to federal prosecutors, he engaged in “unwanted, forced or coerced sexual activity” with a woman in the AtD program. He misled investigators and destroyed evidence by deleting information from his cell phone after being approached by FBI agents.
