Ohio doctor who scanned men’s genitals in his apartment found guilty
A former University of Cincinnati doctor who performed genital examinations on individuals who visited him for heart scans was found guilty of two felony counts of practicing medicine without a license earlier this month in the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas.
According to county records, former University of Cincinnati Health doctor Rudel Saunders gave men who were members of his running group genital scans in his Cincinnati apartment. Two men testified they originally visited Saunders for heart scans.
A resident at the time of the scans, which took place in 2022, Saunders told the men he needed a reach an ultrasound quota for his medical training, although according to a Cincinnati Inquirer story, a UC health doctor and educator testified that residents do not need to perform a certain number of ultrasounds as part of their program.

In April of this year, Saunders was acquitted on misdemeanor charges of sexual imposition and voyeurism charges, although a judge in that case referred to Saunder’s scans as “inappropriate and incomprehensible,” the Cincinnati Inquirer said.
Saunders has not yet been sentenced.
