Ohio food truck owner arrested after allegedly slashing tires of rival truck

A Toledo-area food truck owner has taken a restaurant rivalry to a whole new level.
According to a story from WTVG, 48 year-old Toledo man Arturo Palma-Romero was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal damaging (also known as endangering property) after he allegedly slashed the tires of two different food trucks owned by a rival eatery.
Palma-Romero allegedly slashed the front passenger’s side tires on both trucks.

The WTVG story noted that the Palma-Romero and his victim are “food truck rivals,” although it did not provide the name of his truck, nor either of the victim’s trucks.
He appeared in a Lucas County court on Monday and pleaded not guilty. He was released on an own recognizance bond and is not allowed to contact the victim.
According to Ohio law, the punishment for criminal damaging can be categorized as a felony or misdemeanor, depending on circumstances. Felonious criminal damaging can include a penalty of up top 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.
