One person dead after shooting outside popular Old North bar, suspect on the loose

A person was fatally shot early Friday morning, and the suspect is still on the loose.

Officers arrived to Ledo’s Tavern, a popular spot in Old North, right between campus and Clintonville, around 2:30 in the morning.

According to Columbus police, a Bryan K. Morris Jr, 40, was found with a gunshot wound outside of the bar and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police said the incident occurred outside as the bar was closing, starting with an altercation.

The suspect fled the scene, driving a BMW that police originally found at LC New Albany Apartments around 7 a.m., but the suspect was not located.

Authorities are still investigating, but all the surrounding streets are reopened as of 5:30 a.m. this morning.
