Person found dead in Columbus’ Olentangy River near Arena District

Columbus police are working to determine if a body found in The Olentangy River this morning is a homicide.

Around 8 a.m. this morning, police were called to the Olentangy River after someone reported a body floating in the water near the Arena District. The man was pronounced dead shortly after officers were dispatched to the scene.

The police said that the man had a gunshot wound to his body, but investigators are working with the Franklin County Coroner’s Office to determine if the wound was self-inflicted or if this could be a homicide.
