Police: Ohio man accidentally sends meth to bank employee using drive-thru air tubes

Jack McLaughlin

An Ohio man was arrested early this month after allegedly sending meth through the air tube system of a Woodsfield bank during a transaction.

According to a social media post from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, 46 year-old Jason Smith of Woodsfield was arrested and transported to Monroe County Jail after an investigation of the incident led back to him.

Police believe Smith “unknowingly” sent a small baggie “containing a crystal like substance consistent with methamphetamine” through the bank’s drive-thru tubes during a transaction.

It’s unclear if the contents of the bag have been formally tested yet.

Smith was located later in Wayne Township by Ohio Department of Natural Resources officers, with assistance from K9 officer Max. Officers responded to the scene and recovered more suspected drugs and suspected drug paraphernalia from his vehicle.
