Popular travel website features Columbus as ‘underrated travel destination’, including Japan and France
The Points Guy travel site has included Columbus in their ’13 underrated summer travel destinations for 2025′ feature after giving Columbus a shout-out last year. Named among coveted spots in Japan, France, Norway, and more, Columbus has made the list with “friendly people, family-friendly activities and lots of opportunities to get outdoors.”
The Points Guy is a popular American travel website started by Brian Kelly, focusing on the best ways to leverage credit card and airline points for affordable trips. The website is full of tips, credit card reviews, and travel destination content from all over the globe. Earlier this year, Kelly also published his book How to Win at Travel.

The recent Columbus feature mentions the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium’s variety of animals, including summer Zoo events with live music and craft beer. In addition to the Zoo, the article mentions visiting The Wilds in Central Ohio for a safari experience at the animal conservation center. The writer also features Legoland Discovery Center at Easton Town Center (the 36,000-square-foot attraction), and gives Columbus praise for our “great breweries and restaurants, various sporting teams and a historic German Village.”
We already knew that Columbus is cool with a side of Midwest charm. But seeing it named in an exclusive list next to Hamburg, Germany and Charlevoix, Quebec? Even cooler.
