Dropped donut leads to multiple-car crash in Ohio


A dropped donut led to a multi-car crash in Northeastern Ohio.
According to a crash report provided by the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), a driver became distracted after dropping a donut they were eating with their coffee, leading to a three-car crash that took place on the morning of April 2.
According to the report, the driver, who was heading eastbound, dropped a donut while driving, causing them to swerve into oncoming traffic at the intersection of Rock Creek Road and Dewey Road in Thompson, Ohio.

According to a 19 News report, local fire departments transported two patients to UH Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, one of whom had to be cut out of their vehicle. Both patients were treated for non-life threatening injuries. Another patient was treated at the scene and refused to be transported to the hospital.
The driver received a citation for not driving in marked lanes. There are currently no criminal charges.
