‘This is very bizarre:’ Ohio man finds dead stranger inside own home

While homicides are unfortunately nothing new for Ohio’s larger cities, an individual finding a dead stranger is something that doesn’t happen every day.

According to a News 5 Cleveland report, an Akron resident located on the 90 block of Kent Court called 911 on July 2 to report “a strange guy upstairs.”

After several questions, the caller continued, “”I don’t know who it is, and I didn’t even know he was here until I just went upstairs and seen somebody laying on the floor.”

Police responded to what they initially believed was a burglary, but found 32 year old Andrew Cassell dead due to multiple gunshot wounds. A gun was also found at the scene.

“We’re just trying to determine exactly what happened, because the resident there doesn’t know the individual that was in his home, and we really just don’t know the circumstances surrounding,” Lt. Michael Murphy told News 5.

Additional details about the incident haven’t been released.
