New business opening in historic German Village-area space that’s been vacant for years
A charming brick building on E. Whittier St., which used to be an appliance store, has been sitting vacant for years. Initially, plans for a food hall were prepared, but that never came to fruition.
Something else is indeed coming there, though.

Switchyards, a neighborhood coworking club, is opening its first Ohio location at 368 E. Whittier St., right next to Mutts & Co.
The company boasts 30 locations across 15 cities, with members having access to “phone booths,” meeting rooms, bringing guests in for meetings. They also receive free coffee, and the Columbus location will have a cafe and library inside.
A membership will cost $129 per month, with 24/7 access. An open house is planned for January 20 and 21 if you’d like to check it out before committing!
