From cultural fests to Blues and Brews and Halloween: Here’s your guide to what’s happening in Reynoldsburg

We can’t believe autumn is nearly here and the long-running Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival is behind us. But the Central Ohio city has a lot more to offer for the rest of the summer, and throughout the fall and winter. The choices are endless.

-Immerse yourself in a small-town stay-cation by visiting a national treasure, the Reynoldsburg Macedonian Festival, (Sept.  5-7, 400 S. Waggoner Rd.). The festival is one of the largest celebrations of Macedonian culture, food and art. Attendance is free and parking is free at the St. Mary’s Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral. Besides the festival, the church is regarded as one of the Midwest’s architectural gems

-Also in September is The Heroes for Heroes 5k Race (Sept. 8, at Civic Park, 6800 Daugherty Dr.) Two more activities round out the month’s activities: Blues and Brews Fest (Sept. 5-9, Huber Park, 1640 Davidson Dr.)  and Pioneer Days (Sept. 20, 11-2 at Livingston Park, 1792 Graham Rd.).

-October brings the Tihar Diwali Festival (Oct. 4, 2-7:30 p.m. at Civic Park, 6800 Daugherty Dr.), where the culture is magnificent, lively, colorful and tons of fun.

-Reynoldsburg will offer a number of Halloween activities: the Community Halloween Party (Oct. 18, 5-8 p.m. at JFK Park, 7232 E. Main St.), the Spooky Pet Parade (Oct. 19, 1-3 p.m. at JFK Park, 7232 E. Main St.), and the Community Trick or Treat event (Oct. 18, also at JFK Park). Check the City of Reynoldsburg website for details.

-In December, the city gets ready to celebrate the holiday season. City Hall’s Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place Dec. 5, 5:30 – 8 p.m. at the Reynoldsburg Senior Center, 1520 Davidson Dr. Additionally, the Reynoldsburg Community Activities Association’s Christmas of the Town festivities in Downton Reynoldsburg will be held Dec. 6, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
