What if we told you there was a way to carry your Buckeye or Wolverine pride off the field, too?

As the Ohio State vs. Michigan game draws near, there’s another Ohio–Michigan matchup that deserves a moment in the spotlight—United Rivals, an annual fundraising challenge hosted by United Way Central Ohio, dedicated to fighting childhood food insecurity right here in Central Ohio.

The truth is, while many of us are gearing up for The Game with wings, chips, and all the game-day comfort snacks, countless families across our region are struggling to put food on the table. United Way’s United Rivals fundraiser steps in to bridge that gap, turning community generosity into real meals for kids who need them most.

From November 10 through November 29, you can show off your team pride and make a meaningful impact by donating any amount to United Rivals. Michigan fans can rally behind Team Michigan; Buckeyes loyalists can boost Team Ohio. Every contribution counts, no matter which team you’re rooting for.

A gift of $50 not only earns you a United Rivals t-shirt, but it also provides a hot meal to ten kids in an after-school program. A $75 donation supplies 300 meals to a local food pantry; $150 gives 35 children a full week of nutritious snacks at an out-of-school learning center; and $250 ensures a child has food every weekend for an entire school year. And the best part is that every dollar stays right here in the community.

You’re also invited to this year’s United Rivals Tailgate on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 4–7 p.m. Buckeyes and Wolverines fans can set aside the rivalry for one evening and come together for a cause that’s bigger than the scoreboard. Attendees will help pack 3,000 snack bags for local kids and enjoy food, drinks, a 50/50 raffle, cornhole, a live DJ, dancing, and special guests—including former OSU football player Doug Worthington. It’s a family-friendly event that brings the community together for a meaningful cause.
