Uptown Westerville’s DORA season is heating up, even with the temperature dropping
From Uptown shopping sprees to festive family fun, Westerville is your cold-weather hotspot. Westerville’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) is ready to help you celebrate the season, no matter what Ohio weather brings.
Beat the rush and find unique gifts early by enjoying National Shop Local Day on Nov. 29. This means not only deals at your favorite Uptown spots—like Schneider’s Bakery, Uptown Deli & Brew, or Blended Candle Co.—but also a craft beer or cocktail to sip while you stroll.
You can learn more about the impact of shopping local in Westerville and beyond here.

The following weekend brings the beloved Westerville Annual Tree Lighting Celebration, where the DORA will be in full effect to elevate your experience as you take in the lights and sights.
On Friday, December 5th, from 6-8 p.m., visitors can snap a photo in a giant Santa chair, try their hand at riding a mechanical reindeer (think festive, family-friendly bull riding), take in a performance, or meet and greet with Bingo, Bluey, the Grinch, and more.
“The DORA was instrumental in bringing guests back to our historic Uptown district after COVID,” said Westerville’s economic development administrator, Rob Rishel. “It continues to be a major amenity, offering a sip-and-stroll atmosphere in the authentic, vibrant heart of Westerville. We invite residents and visitors alike to enjoy the magic of Uptown Westerville, DORA in hand, this holiday season.”
