Columbus-based family makes first-ever kids’ soda to be sold at Walmart

One can of Mountain Dew has 46 grams of sugar in it; a bottle of Cola is filled with caramel dye, and even diet soda drinks still carry chemicals and fillers such as aspartame. Needless to say, these sodas are not ideal for children.

A Columbus-based soda brand, targeted for children, perhaps could be a substitute for any kid (or adult!) craving a flavorful soda but without, well, all that sugar.

Roxberry, founded by Lauren and Andy Sauer (and their four kids!), is now available at 2,200 Walmarts across the country. This is the first-ever kids’ soda to be sold at Walmart. “We created Roxberry so families wouldn’t have to compromise between what kids want and what parents feel good about,” said COO Dan Haugen in a press release.

Each 7.5 ounce can (designed for little hands!) has only five grams of sugar. There’s still carbonation, but it’s on the lighter side. The three flavors available include Pink Lava Strawberry Lemonade, Ocean Potion Fruit Punch, and Galaxy Gulp Citrus.

Best of all, for many parents and their kids, these sodas are coconut water-based and made with fruits and vegetables! There are no artificial flavors, sweeteners, or dyes.

Roxberry is currently in stock at many Central Ohio Walmarts as of today.
