Unique Ohio business closing after 54 years

After more than 50 years in Yellow Springs, Ohio Silver Co. has announced that they will close. The closing sale is in progress, and owner Marcia Wallgren is retiring. The announcement came via Facebook.

The post said, “With full hearts and deep gratitude, we are announcing that Ohio Silver Co. will be closing its doors after 54 remarkable years serving this community. From the very beginning, we build this store on a simple belief: that handcrafted things made with care and conscience are worth seeking out. Over five decades, we filled these cases with sterling silver jewelry from gifted artists across America and around the world—much of it fair trade, all of it chosen with love. You showed up for us at every holiday, every anniversary, every birthday. You trusted us with your most meaningful gifts. Many of you have been shopping with us for decades. Some of you came in as children with your parents and now bring your own. That loyalty is something we will carry with us always.”

The shop is located at 245 Xenia Ave., in Yellow Springs. Their updated hours are Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Follow them here for updates on the closing sale and final announcements.
