Columbus bar has pride flag torn down, ‘large rock’ thrown through window

A Columbus bar is picking up the pieces–literally–after a recent incident.

According to a social media post from O’Reilly’s Pub, a Clintonville Irish bar, was “targeted” due to a pride flag displayed near the front door of the business.

The post says that the flag was torn, and a large rock was then thrown through the establishment’s widow “minutes later.”

O’Reilly’s, which is located at 2822 N. High St., has remained open. 

The Clintonville bar is choosing to “respond with community,” holding a 50/50 raffle that will benefit a local LGBTQIA+ nonprofit. According to the post, 1 ticket can be purchased for $5, 5 tickets can be purchased for $25 and 15 tickets can be purchase for $50. The drawing will be held at the bar on June 30 at 7 p.m. 

50 percent of the proceeds will go to the winner of the drawing, and the other 50 percent will be donated to Kaleidoscope Youth Center.
