Ohio bar owners are banding together in support of a bill that would ban OSU football games from being aired exclusively via streaming.

Senator Bill DeMora (D-Columbus) introduced Senate Bill 94 last month, which would prohibit OSU from granting broadcasting rights exclusively to a streaming service. There is also a provision in the bill for OSU to allow enrolled students to watch athletic events for free.
Streaming services (in place of traditional cable) create challenges for bars using multiple televisions with sound quality, subscriptions, and internet access. The bill is awaiting additional committee hearings in the Senate, and will go to Gov. DeWine for approval if it passes.
