Top 40 musician surprises Columbus with pop-up show at local jazz bar

“Mama’s Boy” singer and Euphoria actor, Dominic Fike, held an impromptu concert at a local Columbus bar Monday night while in town on tour with Tame Impala.

On Instagram, Fike posted a story to his profile captioned “Columbus, I’m thinking of doing something tonight,” with a phone number. Fans quickly contacted the cryptic number and learned that there would be a pop-up event at the bluegrass and jazz bar, Dick’s Den.

At 2417 N. High St., in place of Dick’s Den’s usual Monday act, Fike performed an intimate 20-minute set for fans 21 and up. The bar was at capacity as Fike interacted with the crowd and even handed out custom one-night-only T-shirts.

There was even a special appearance by Kevin Abstract, former member of the now-defunct hip-hop group Brockhampton.

Fike opened for Kevin Parker’s Tame Impala on the Deadbeat Tour at Nationwide Arena on August 25, performing his latest album, Rocket, while also teasing new music along the way. Fike can also be seen from his season two appearance as Elliot in the HBO series Euphoria.
