Once again, this Ohio city ranks among top walkable cities in the US
Columbus is becoming its own Big Apple of sorts—welcoming all forms of entertainment and becoming a prime food and drink stop.
According to a panel of travel experts, the endless array of Columbus culture is accessible on foot. A USA Today poll is currently voting on the 10 best walkable cities of 2026. From a selection of 20 cities, Ohio’s capital is currently defending its 2025 fourth-place position.
Columbus is holding steady at fourth place, beating out top contenders such as NYC and Philadelphia—the number one most walkable city of 2025.

“Columbus, Ohio, is home to a bevy of walkable neighborhoods, from the Short North Arts District where galleries and coffee shops are plentiful to the University District, home to The Ohio State University, the Gateway Film Center, and eateries galore. Consider a stay at the Residence Inn or the high-end Hotel LeVeque in the downtown area, which is especially walkable with its numerous museums, concert venues, and restaurants in close proximity,” said the USA Today article.
