Unique Ohio festival voted nation’s best by ‘USA Today’ readers

While Columbus Pride and the Dublin Irish Festival both get their fair share of love on a national level, the Ohio Renaissance Festival just received some flowers of its own.

As a part of USA Today’s 10Best Readers Choice awards, the Ohio Renaissance Festival was tapped as the nation’s best. Finalist fairs were nominated by USA Today, with readers voting to select the top 10.

“We are incredibly honored and grateful to our fans, performers, artisans, and staff who helped make this possible,” said festival organizers. “Being named the #1 Renaissance Faire in the country by USA TODAY readers is a testament to the passion of the community that brings the village to life each season.”

Now in its 37th year, the festival is held annually at Renaissance Park in Waynesville, which is transformed into “an English filled with knights, artisans, musicians, comedians, and colorful characters.” Every season includes more than 100 performances like knife-throwing acts, storytelling mermaids and the yearly Feast of Fools, which brings Watermelon vs. Pumpkin War.
