World-famous car auction headed to Columbus
An internationally-known auction company is bringing its high-energy collector car experience to Columbus for the first time this month — and organizers believe the Midwest is more than ready for it.
Barrett-Jackson will host its inaugural Columbus event June 25-27, blending rare and collectible vehicles with celebrity appearances, interactive displays, food, hospitality and live entertainment.
“Barrett-Jackson is really an entertainment experience, not just an auction,” said Nick Cardinale, chief operating officer of QuintEvents, the company overseeing Barrett-Jackson’s VIP experiences. “It’s more of a car festival than an auction.”

Known for its televised auctions and fast-paced bidding environment, Barrett-Jackson operates primarily as a no-reserve auction — meaning most vehicles sell regardless of the final bid amount.
“That creates a really cool energy,” Cardinale said. “People are coming there knowing the car is going to sell.”
According to Cardinale, Columbus checked several key boxes for Barrett-Jackson as it looked to expand into a new region.
“I think Columbus is a growing market with a strong automotive culture,” he said. “It’s easy to get to, there are a lot of surrounding states within driving distance and it’s a city that can support premium live events and experiential entertainment.”
Cardinale also said Columbus stood out because the brand has never established a major presence in the Midwest.
“There’s a pent-up demand for this,” he said. “The Barrett-Jackson fan base that’s been watching it on television for decades is finally going to get a chance to see it live.”
In addition to general admission options, attendees can also purchase elevated VIP packages through QuintEvents. Those experiences include access to hospitality lounges, premium viewing areas overlooking the auction block, gourmet dining, hosted bars and behind-the-scenes experiences.
