A historic Columbus pizzeria is adding a second storefront to the mix.

The Original Josie’s Pizza, the historic West Side spot that’s been serving pies since 1959, is opening a new location.

According to fourth-generation co-owner Austin Catalina, who operates Josie’s current eatery located at 894 W. Broad St. with his father, Jason Catalfina, Josie’s is opening a new pizzeria located at 1675 Holt Rd., on the city’s Southwest Side.

Catalfina told 614Now that the new pizzeria is currently undergoing renovations, but it will likely open “within the next month or so.”

The Original Josie’s Pizza opened at 952 W. Broad St. in 1959, before relocating to its current home, just several hundred feet down the street (its’s now located at 894 W. Broad St.) in 2021. Josie’s Pizza in the Hilltop, which is located at 3205 W. Broad St., is now a separate concept from The Original Josie’s Pizza.

There may be more in the works for the longtime local pizzeria well. Catalina told 614Now that the brand has “more coming as well not, just a 2nd location.”
